Retaining Wall project in Port Elliot
At Coastal Landscapes and Fencing one thing we love to do is start from the beginning – where we have a blank slate to work with before a slab goes down! We can assist clients with an entire landscaping design and co-ordinate the project with their builder.
This client engaged us to complete retaining walls ready for their builder to pour a slab for their brand new home! The first job was to construct the side retaining walls before the builder poured due to tight access. We used Lonsdale sleepers which stepped down with the gradient of the land. Due to our close proximity to the coast we chose to use hot dipped galvanised beams to ensure longevity of the steels. We backfilled the wall with ag drain and aggregate for drainage.
After the slab went down our next job was the two rear “versa smooth” block walls constructed in 2 tiers with steps leading to the lower level. We constructed the walls on top of a 150mm concrete footing with upright reinforcement bars and core filled with 20mm aggregate. Again, we backfilled this wall with ag drain and 20mm aggregate for drainage.
The client’s home is now well underway and we await completion to start on the landscaping of their front and rear yard.
